Mnemonic device for difference between bit and byte.

Mnemonic Device for difference between Bit and Byte.

To Remember :
Bit is used in case of Speed.
Byte is used in case of Storage.

Mnemonic Device Type :
Association

Mnemonic Device:
Bit Rhyme with Speed. { Bit --- Speed }

There is one E on Byte as well as Storage.

Explanation :
While creating any mnemonic devices we need to first enlist the things that are to be memorised.

In this example too we have enlisted the thing to remember. i.e. Bit is used in case of Speed and Byte is used in case of Storage.

Now we need to create a mnemonic device.

Firstly, we need to watch the similarity between the things to associate. Here, we need to associate Bit with Speed. It's simple now, because Bit and Speed are rhyming words.

Although remembering one is OK. Let's make another also so that we can use the easier and better one among the two.

Let's associate Byte with Storage. Does it rhyme? No. Then, how to make? There are infinite numbers of ways to make mnemonic devices. Watch the similarity on Byte and Storage which is not on bit and Speed. OK. That is E. Since there are single Es on both Storage and Byte they can be associated with it.

Reason to remember:
When you will hear bit, you will remember speed. Because they rhyme.

When you will hear Byte, you will remember Storage and Speed. Then you will recall that you have associated E on both Storage and Byte.

We Recommend:

Remember this is one possible way of remembering. If you have another mnemonic device better than this you can use that mnemonic device.

Furthermore, if you have another mnemonic device don't forget to post as comment.
